MTS Systems

Thermomechanical Fatigue (TMF) Subsystem

The TMF Subsystem is ideal for inducing thermal cycling in a metallic (magnetically susceptible) specimen. A combination of induction heating and air cooling allows thermomechanical fatigue tests to be performed in or out of phase with a load force. The TMF subsystem has a user-friendly design that helps operators perform repeatable test setup tasks quickly.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Hi-Temp Capability — Highly accurate and repeatable TMF testing at temperatures up to 1200°C
  • Pre-Configured Software — TestSuite™ software templates to test to ASTM E2368, ISO 12111 and the European Validated Code of Practice for Strain-Controlled Thermomechanical Fatigue Testing
  • Easy Setup — Designed for streamlined repeatable testing
  • Accurate & Repeatable — Air-cooling jets and the induction coil easily reset to original position after changing specimen
